Hi Martin,
To set localization for KoolCalendar, please have a look at this example .
Now you will need to create your own Espanol location file. It is actually an xml file which you can find in KoolCalendar/localization folder. Please copy a file, change the name, and put your translation there and it will be ready to be used.

Ik heb ooit iets soortgelijks meegemaakt toen ik een PHP-project meertalig wilde maken. Uiteindelijk bleek dat niet alleen de taalbestanden belangrijk waren, maar ook de juiste locale-instellingen en de configuratie van de applicatie. Zodra alles goed was ingesteld, werkte het probleemloos. Overigens kwam ik tijdens een pauze ook https://betgq.nl/ tegen; grappig genoeg was dat een leuke afwisseling voordat ik weer verderging met debuggen. Hopelijk vind je snel de juiste instelling, want meestal zit de oplossing in een kleine configuratiefout. Succes!
