I’ve got some IOTA left from a freelance payment and I’d rather turn it into USDT than keep another coin sitting in my wallet. I checked a few of the bigger exchanges, but the pair either isn’t there or the route gets unnecessarily complicated, and then they still want ID, selfies, and a full verification process before I can do anything. I’m only trying to make one crypto swap, so handing over a pile of personal data for that doesn’t appeal to me at all. Are there any exchangers that handle less common coins, don’t make you jump through a long registration process, and can get the swap done fairly quickly?

That’s the downside of getting paid in whatever coin happens to be convenient for somebody else. It lands in your wallet just fine, but when you’re ready to move on from it, half the places you normally use suddenly aren’t much help. Exolix is worth checking for this kind of swap, since they work with plenty of less common assets and don’t require an account for a regular exchange. See whether they currently have the IOTA to USDT route and what amount they quote for it.

For a one-off conversion, spending half an evening opening accounts and proving who you are feels completely out of proportion to what you’re trying to do. There are services built more around quick wallet-to-wallet swaps, which makes a lot more sense when you just need to turn one coin into another and move on. You can use this crypto exchange platform here: https://godex.io/ . They have a broad list of supported coins, so there’s a better chance of finding an IOTA to USDT route there. You can check the pair first and see whether the terms work for the amount you’re moving.
