Should the government regulate online advertising more strictly?

Lately, it feels like governments are taking a closer look at how online advertising works. Tighter rules, stricter oversight, and more transparency could soon become the norm. I think that’s not necessarily a bad thing — clearer standards can help make the digital space more trustworthy. At the same time, businesses and marketers will have to adapt, rethink their strategies, and keep up with changing regulations. It’ll be interesting to see where this balance between freedom and control leads.

I also believe governments should regulate online advertising more strictly. But that kind of change takes time, while I’m using the internet every day right now. So, instead of waiting for new rules, I’ve started taking matters into my own hands and using ad blockers. One of them is specifically blocking ads for Temu, and it’s made browsing a lot less annoying. Fewer pop-ups, fewer distractions, and I can simply focus on what I actually came online to do.
